CHINA RAILWAY EXPRESS

Since 2011, when the China Railway Express (officially adopted in 2016) was launched, rail freight transport between the two continents has grown significantly. And for good reason: this route between China and Western Europe offers twice as fast delivery times as sea freight, with a journey time of around 12 days between the two destinations.

Today, there are 110,000 freight trains in service, departing from 128 Chinese cities to serve 229 cities in 26 European countries. Among the most commonly transported goods are automobiles, spare parts, electronic and electrical products, and mechanical equipment. Textiles and everyday consumer goods, food products, wood, and furniture are also transported by rail.
