Balguerie Outre-Mer Guyane is committed to providing certification training in logistics
A major player in transportation and logistics in French Guiana, Balguerie Outre-Mer Guyane is taking a new step forward in its commitment to developing local skills. In partnership with the University of French Guiana and ISTELI, the company is helping to create a new certification training dedicated to careers in international logistics; this program began its first session in September 2026.
In response to sustained growth in trade and the evolving needs of the region, Balguerie Outre-Mer Guyane sought to play an active role in developing a certification training aligned with real-world conditions. The goal is to enable young people from French Guiana, as well as professionals seeking a career change, to acquire the skills sought by companies in the sector.
Drawing on its operational expertise, the company has helped develop a program that combines academic instruction with hands-on professional experience. The curriculum, offered as a work-study program, will give students the opportunity to gain practical experience in logistics professions while developing a solid grasp of the fundamentals of international transportation.
The curriculum will cover topics such as supply chain management, port and airport operations, maritime and air transport, customs procedures, and the specific challenges associated with the Amazonian environment.
