Our company Transcausse in Marseille, a fervent admirer of football, the city’s emblematic sport, has become a sponsor of the “Les Amis de Maurice” walking football club. The club’s members agree that this sport helps them to keep fit, maintain social links and challenge themselves by organising tournaments.

WHAT IS WALKING FOOTBALL?

Derived from traditional football, this mixed sport for senior citizens attracts both men and women, enabling them to keep physically active by practising a discipline that motivates them on a daily basis.

It is played on foot, with a reduced number of players on the pitch, between five and six per team, contact is limited and the ball must remain on the ground.

Walking football is becoming increasingly popular, and is now played in 53 countries. There will even be a world cup in 2023. Although the rules have been adapted, the sport is nonetheless intense, exciting and much appreciated by its fans.
