The fumigation season to prevent the proliferation of the marmorated stink bug (BMSB) will begin on September 1, 2025 and end on April 30, 2026 inclusive<\/strong> (date of shipment) for your shipments bound for Australia and New Zealand. We would like to remind you of the various measures available<\/strong> to combat this pest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

BMSB : WHAT IS IT?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Brown Marmorated Stink Bug<\/strong> (BMSB) is an insect native to Asia, considered a pest because it damages crops, orchards and trees in order to feed. This insect, which is present on the European and American continents in addition to Asia, is the subject of measures to prevent its introduction and proliferation in Australia and New Zealand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

COUNTRIES AND GOODS CONCERNED<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All European countries, including France, are concerned by these measures, as are Japan, Canada, the United States, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kosovo, Kazakhstan and Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

China, the UK, Japan and South Korea may be subject to random onshore inspections of goods transiting during the same period between September 1 and April 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


It should be noted that ships transiting through one of the so-called “at-risk” countries will have to undergo appropriate treatment against BMSB.
